What if?
Page 54 in the latest Classic Bus magazine shows what a Wright Eclipse Gemini 'decker might look like if it was built to pass under the Beverley Bar in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Back in 1956, East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) struck a deal with body builder Willowbrook to build a specially-modified body for a batch of AEC Regent Vs. All were subsequently withdrawn and sold by 1972, however in 1990 one of the batch was bought back by EYMS and is currently preserved in their coaching fleet where it can be hired out.
The artist who produced the fascinating design is, presumably, a Classic Bus reader. The bus is in the former EYMS primrose and light blue livery and the body is no doubt based on the Volvo B9TL chassis, the most recent of deliveries for EYMS.
