A serious collison occurred yesterday at George Street in Croydon, when a bus on the 468 service from South Croydon to Elephant & Castle, collided with a tram (2534), and struck a number of shop fronts before coming to rest after hitting the back of a BMW car.A 28 year old male was struck by both the tram and the bus after being thrown through the upstairs window of the bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 2 people suffered serious injuries whilst 4 others also suffered non life-threatening injuries.

itnesses claim the collision occurred after the bus swerved to avoid a car, and subsequently hit the tram. The bus driver was arrested and has been has since been bailed. police are currently investigating if the bus went past a traffic light set at red.
