The ShipAIS website provides up-to-date information on shipping movements around the UK. The index page shows a map of the British Isles in full, which is divided into segments. Each of these can be clicked on to gain a more detailed view. The example below shows Immingham this evening (please click on the image for a larger view)
The position of each ship can be seen, and by clicking on each it is possible to see the name of the vessel, destination (where known) and, in some cases, even what the cargo is! It is also possible to gain even more information by clicking on the link to the Ships Database. There is also the option on maps to have pages auto-refresh to see the progress of the ships!
