She was exonerated but never received an apology from the TTI.

Duty of care went out of the window even from BT Police whan they dumped a passanger with a valid travel booking in the middle of Motherwell at 01.00. The ticket collection facility was broken, but he had all the valid details on a printed sheet. The guard refused to accept the printed details, the Police were called, and the passnger forced to consent to purchase of another ticket. However the Guard refused to fill in the credit card counterfoil with proper details of the ticket and the row erupted again, and we were again stopped until the Police arrived. Eventually the passenger was persuaded to get off the train and we continued over an hour late disrupting the night's engineering work, costing the train operator £'000s in penalty charges.

Agree also on your security ambivalence. After the London Bombings the Met put extra Police in alongside BTP on rail stations and created havoc through their lack of experience in Policing transport interchanges. Even got upset with me taking pictures on the public road outside the station!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1988587131543641843.post-28610948913065639772012-06-15T19:51:27.963+01:002012-06-15T19:51:27.963+01:00Note that ALL these disgusting cases are of "...Note that ALL these disgusting cases are of "grippers" exercising their (what my father's generation would have called) "proper little pocket-'itler" mentalities on people who are young, confussed, misinformed or otherwise vulnerable.
The correct procedure EVERY TIME is to leave Name, Address, Postcode, and tell them "see you in court!"

They are like the idiot goons pursuing raliway photographers - I've had one or two of these, and my reply is that I've been phtotgraphing raliways (inc STEAM!) since before their putative parents coupled under some damp stone or other ...
They have never tried anything after that, just made blustering noises, and slunk off.
They are bullies, and thee is only one way to deal with that sort of behaviour.G.
