Manchester Strike: deal confirmed

Over the past month there has been a strong feeling within the Stagecoach Group that bus drivers at its Manchester depots were to go on strike and that mobilising any employees from elsewhere within its bus division would be needed to cover on strike days.

Today, following the partial suspension of some strike dates, the Unite Union voted to accept the latest offer of 6% year 1 and 4% year two. This will see drivers immediately reach £9 per hour and the following year £9.35. These percentages also extend to holiday and overtime rates of pay though not to unsociable hours payments or attendance bonuses, which remain frozen.

As a result all strike dates have been cancelled.
