The Travel Centre at Lincoln railway station is to close as part of a number of cut backs by East Midlands Trains, due to the economic downturn. Despite claims by a local newspaper that it was to close last month, it was open for business as usual today, as illustrated in our photograph below.
Also a part of cutbacks is the redundancy of 162 staff in the EMT network. A planned strike by the RMT over this was to have taken place last Friday, but was subsequently called off. (PW)
