It's the best news the rail industry has had in a very long time: the West Coast Main Line upgrade - a decade in the making - opened on Monday. This now means that Virgin Trains can, in some cases, increase the number of services it offers by 60%. It also means that journey times between London Euston and the north west and Scotland have been cut significantly.
In just over 4 hours one can travel between Glasgow and London Euston.
