Felix lose out to Doyles
Long-established bus and coach operator, Felix of Stanley near Derby, have lost their contract with Derbshire County Council to operate Service 59 between Derby-Ilkeston via Stanley Common to fellow local independant operator, Doyles of Alfreton. Felix are rumoured to have shown their willingness to purchase two brand new Optare Solo midibuses to replace those currently employed on the service, yet despite this and 5 years' unblemished record operating the service, Derbyshire County Council have presumably opted for the cheapest tender. Doyles' livery is certainly more stark when compared to that of Felix and will add well to the plethora of colours seen in Derby city centre as a result of trent barton's services operating there already. Doyles' contract is due to commence at the end of September.
