Chesterfield Strike: conclusion

Two days before the second strike was planned in Chesterfield (14 September), Stagecoach management made another offer to the workforce which saw their £7.50 per hour current pay increase to £7.75 with immediate effect and to include back-pay to the anniversary date of April 2007, plus an incrament to £7.90 at the start of December and to re-negotiate in March 2008, thus removing the two-year deal that was initially in place. I understand the 2 year deal would have seen most drivers on around £8.15 per hour at the end.

The revised offer was accepted and further strike action called off.
